Care Instructions

Thankfully, baby carriers aren't as "precious" as they might appear. Because babies tend to create messes, most can be washed in your washing machine. Always check the care instructions first, for recommendations around detergents and temperatures.

It's always a good idea to do up buckles and clips. You can pop your soft-structured carrier into a pillowcase to prevent tangles and this works well with wraps too. Ring slings can be a bit noisy but covering the rings with a sock tones down the clunking a bit! Wash bags can also be used (shout-out to @chekohbaby for supplying these as packaging!)

If your carrier has a mix of fibres like silk, wool or others needing delicate care, you might prefer to handwash but most carriers are robust enough for machine washing. However tumble drying is not always recommended so do check and line dry if advised.

Chucky or refluxy babies can mean extra laundry so a second carrier might reduce the stress to get clean before you need it again. Soft-structured carriers tend to take longest to dry, while lightweight wraps and ring slings are quickest.
